Over the course of the PSRC’s
29-year
history, we have seen many changes in the health care field. Most
particularly, the rapid evolution of managed care has created challenges
for those of us, both physician and administrator, who serve the patient
and the community.
It is more than likely that the patient will determine how the managed
care system will evolve. Certainly, the quality of review decisions, and
the confidentiality of the medical data upon which those review decisions
are based, will be essential to maintaining the public’s confidence in
the integrity of the health care system.
With its diverse Board of Directors from the medical, dental, consumer and
educational fields, the PSRC has been uniquely sensitive to these public
concerns since its inception. Organized in 1977 as a not-for-profit
organization with a public service mission, the PSRC has been in the
forefront of the most compelling issues facing medicine and its delivery
system.
To that end, PSRC’s clients, both corporate and public, are well served
by the advice, experience and perspective which is freely shared and
incorporated into the ongoing management and program activities we carry
out for each project.
For three decades, the PSRC’s reputation for
integrity, skill and competence has earned it the accolades of its clients
and the community at large. Our not-for-profit organization and our
history of independent and objective quality and utilization review
decisions offer our clients a value added benefit to the programs we
implement.
